Stay on a Farm in Sweden
Many of the Swedes who emigrated to America came from the countryside. A good way to experience that environment is to “Stay on a Farm” during your visit to Sweden. There are 400 farms to choose from all over Sweden, and many of them are open all the year round. Choose between Bed & Breakfast and Self-Catering. All the farms have been inspected and classified by the association. Read more about all the farms and order our catalogue on our web page www.bopalantgard.org.
Bed & Breakfast
You choose the duration of your stay: a night, a few days or a week. The room could be in the farmhouse, or in a cottage on the farm.
A welcoming atmosphere and hearty country breakfast await – maybe with some freshly baked bread from the farm, home-produced eggs and other farm produce. Bedlinen and towels are included in the price, just like any normal hotel.
Self-Catering
A cottage on the farm or a flat in the host family's house...but, above all, total freedom. You decide your holiday menu – the cottages and flats all have their own cooking facilities. Look after yourselves, and bring your own bedlinen.
Once you've booked your cottage through us, just sit back and look forward to a relaxing holiday. The hosts are always ready to help should you have any questions. Ideal for family holidays with independence and confidence.
Stay on a Farm in Sweden with quality grading
All our farms are carefully inspected and quality graded to help you find your ideal accommodation. Are you looking for a cosy, simple cottage, or do you dream of a country holiday in a manor house? Our grading system gives you additional information on the farm to help you decide.
Each farm is graded in various categories on a scale of 1-5 corn ears. One corn ear means “Approved”, indicating that the farm meets all the criteria for membership in Stay on a Farm in Sweden. Five corn ears means “First class”. The number of corn ears published is the average grade awarded to the farm. A full inspection report is shown under each individual farm at www.bopalantgard.org.
