Genealogical Research
You have different options regarding genealogy research
for the trip.
You can buy a subscription at genline
and start researching your family history already now from your computer
at home.
You can also buy professional help with the research. genline cooperates
with a professional researcher, Anneli Andersson, who can assist you in
finding where in Sweden your ancestors were born and lived. She might also
be able to find current living relatives who you can get in touch with and
maybe meet during your time in Sweden. You can buy
5, 10 or 20 hours research through genline.
Another option is that you wait until you come to Sweden and use some of
your time here to visit archives and emigrant centers and search for information
there. If you choose this option it is highly recommended that you bring
enough information with you so you have somewhere to start the search. It
is for example necessary to know the names of your ancestors and which county
and parish they came from. An approximate year of birth is also important
information. You must also be aware that no matter how much information
you have, it can sometimes be difficult or even impossible to find what
you are looking for.
Genline FamilyTravel cooperates with different organisations in Sweden who
can help you with your research. If you want to have the research done by
any of these organisations then you need to contact us as soon as you have
booked your tickets, because they need time to do the research for you.
